Coinbase is losing another senior director as the American crypto exchange is seeking new options about setting up a new platform overseas due to regulatory difficulties in the US.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Coinbase's Senior Director of Product Management, Vishal Gupta, is leaving the exchange to focus on a new project. Although details of the new project weren't disclosed, a person familiar with the matter told the media that Gupta will remain in the crypto industry. As of press time, Coinbase made no public statement on the matter.

Gupta spent in his role at Coinbase two and a half years, helping the trading platform with maintaining key products. Prior to Coinbase, he worked at Circle Internet Financial, a company behind the USDC stablecoin. Before Circle, Gupta spent eight years at Goldman Sachs as Vice President and Head of US Listed Options.

Earlier this year, Coinbase's CPO, Surojit Chatterjee, also left the exchange earlier this year after announcing his departure in 2022.
