Bitcoin has started the day posting minor losses. At press time, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap is trading at $7,198.22 (-0.92%).

For its part, Ethereum has fallen to $125.18 (-0.72%), while XRP has dropped by 0.34% and is now trading at $0.189.

According to CoinMarketCap’s ranking, 6 currencies on the top 10 are in red.

Yesterday it was known crypto exchange OKEx had launched its bitcoin options after completing its testing period. The instrument, which is currently available to a limited number of users, will be officially launched on January 9. OKEx Director for Financial Markets Lenniks Lai said:

"Options are a unique instrument that enables traders to manage, price and hedge the volatility of crypto assets.We welcome clients from different segments, especially from our institutional clients, who have shown the fastest-growing demand in derivatives trading, especially on futures and perpetual swaps."

Contracts are denominated in US dollars and users interested in accessing them must pass a KYC procedure.

The BTC dominance index has fallen from yesterday’s 68.9% to 68.7%.

As for the market cap of all currencies listed in CoinMarketCap, it stays at $190,048,134,178.
