Chinese state-owned telecommunication company China Telecommunications Corporation has rolled out a whitepaper of 5G blockchain-based smartphones.

According to news media Sina, the whitepaper describes a blockchain app developed by China Telecom, that implements the decentralization technology "to lead the new revolution in the digital economy."

The whitepaper also points out that users can master their digital assets in the 5G.

The implementation of blockchain tech in the mobile industry will reportedly not only solve the problem of trust but also save a lot of manpower and time costs.

Last year, Chinese phone manufacturer HTC announced it would integrate blockchain-based Brave browser in its decentralized phone — HTC Exodus.

Earlier iHodl reported that Alibaba, Tencent and Union Pay, an association of Chinese banks, will start accepting the cryptocurrency issued by the central bank of China.
