Large French multinational retailer Carrefour SA has seen a large sales boost thanks to the integration of blockchain tech to track daily consumption products from farms to stores, reports Reuters citing Carrefour's executive.

Emmanuel Delerm, the Blockchain Project Manager at Carrefour draws a parallel between the achieved result and the implementation of blockchain calling it "a halo effect."

"You are building a halo effect. If I can trust Carrefour with this chicken, I can also trust Carrefour for their apples or cheese," said Delerm.

The retailer has been using the new technology since October 2018 and it's now the only product retailer that sees benefits from the blockchain industry. Earlier iHodl reported that another large product retailer Walmart joined a blockchain consortium MediLedger to enhance its supply chain.
