The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance is launching its own ‘Blockchain Academy’, which will be the first in this country.

The creation of such an Academy marks the country's first proposal for training specialists in distributed registry technology. The training program is developed to prepare professionals for obtaining the International Certified Blockchain Professional qualification (C|BP). In addition to BIBF, the educational company MyLearning Key from Dubai participated in the development of the training program.

Certificate C|BP shows that its holder has excelled in all three competencies of the industry: development, implementation, and strategy. BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh stressed that the creation of the Blockchain Academy reflects to “support the growing demand for skilled Blockchain professionals.”

The Blockchain Academy will also support companies and organizations of the kingdom that implement and use new technologies, such as the Blockchain.

In early September this year, the importance of the Blockchain technology was announced by the minister of electricity and water affairs Abdulhussain Mirza.

Recall that the negotiations of the Bahrain government with the Central Bank and the financial regulator of Singapore (MAS) on the introduction of the Blockchain in their territory took place in early 2017.
