De Beers announced that the world’s largest diamond mining company, Russia’s Alrosa, has joined its Blockchain program to improve diamond mining logistics.
Anglo-American company De Beers, the world's largest diamond miner by value, began developing the Tracr Blockchain platform last year and officially launched a test program in January.
Tracr gives each diamond a unique certificate containing a description of such characteristics as weight, color, and transparency.
In May, the world's largest jewelry retailer, Signet Jewelers, became the first dealer to join the Blockchain project.
