According to a New Zealand media source Stuff, the image of the Prime Minister was posted with such headlines as "New investment plan for Kiwis". Links of the posts led users to fake CNN Tech site where it was claimed that the country's Treasury Department had just signed a $250 million deal to buy a company called Bitcoin Revolution.

Stuff reported the fake posts to the Prime Minister’s office. The representatives of the office filed a complaint to Facebook and after that the announcements were deleted.
