Researchers warn about a cryptojacking malware that is masked behind an Adobe Flash update.

According to a cyber threat report published by Unit 42, Palo Alto Networks' threat intelligence team on Thursday, a new threat of cryptojacking is imposed by a malware that mimics Adobe Flash update. The group of researchers found out that victims’ computers were used to mine for cryptocurrencies such as Monero (XMR) without the owner’s consent or knowledge.

The malware is said to be particularly harmful. The developers have copied the notification from an official Adobe installer and made the malware to really update the version of Flash in order to make it seem more legitimate. That is why computers owners did not notice anything out of the ordinary.
