One of the most famous football clubs in France, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will launch its own token in cooperation with Socios.

It will be called Fan Token Offering. Holders of the tokens among fans of the club will get the right to vote. In particular, using symbolic coins, fans will be able to take part in voting, VIP-events or receive rewards. Also, fans will have the opportunity to choose the dates of friendly matches, summer tours, charity compositions, the design of the team's clothes, music, the stadium logo and so on.

In addition, members can vote for the best player of the match or month, choose opponents during preseason tournaments or for friendly matches.

“Paris Saint-Germain is determined to leverage the opportunities that cryptocurrency can provide. This revolutionary technology will have an important impact on the club’s overall business strategy and the way we engage with our fanbase,” said Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnership Officer of PS.

It is assumed that the tokens of the Paris team will be traded on socios.com platform solely in tandem with chiliZ (CHZ). The exact date of the beginning of the offer and the cost of the tokens are still unknown.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

  1. The Socios blockchain platform is actively developing their chiliZ project. Among Socios’ investors are many prominent crypto companies, including the leading crypto exchange Binance. Currently, the project has reportedly managed to reel in $66 million.
  2. This is isn’t the first football club to implement blockchain into the football industry. Many a club is using crypto in one way or another, and “Gibraltar United” has even switched to paying their players with crypto.
