The founder of MGT Capital Investments, John McAfee, appealed to the critics of his new development - the Bitfi crypto wallet and offered $100,000 as a reward to someone who can hack the device.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

1. McAfee entered the world of cryptocurrencies relatively recently. In April this year, he started advertising digital money and promoting ICO. He highly appreciated his services: the cost of one tweet in his official Twitter account was estimated at $105,000. But in June, the entrepreneur announced that he would no longer advertise ICO projects because of the "threats" from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

2. McAfee is now going to launch his own currency - McAfee Coin. The businessman plans to make it fiat and back up with cryptocurrencies. At the same time, he does not abandon his attempts in politics: earlier in June, McAfee promised to run for the presidency of the United States in 2020.

John McAfee: Crazy Millionaire and Crypto enthusiast

In response, users blamed the billionaire for stinginess, and some doubted Bitfi's invulnerability even more, noting that if the device cannot be really hacked, the reward would be way higher.

Other members of the crypto community have suggested that this statement is another marketing move in order to sell more wallets. Anyone who wants to try to crack Bitfi, must first buy it for $120.

Previously, John McAfee and his team announced the launch of McAfeeMarketCap.com and McAfeeCryptoTeam.com. The first platform presents analytical data in real-time about 948 cryptocurrencies, in particular, about the rate of the cryptocurrency, the 24h volume, market capitalization. While the second site provides support for ICO projects at all stages of development.
