DHL, the global leader in delivery and logistics, has entered into a partnership agreement with the TradelX blockchain platform. This was announced today at the Money20 / 20 conference in Amsterdam.

Why it is important

  1. TradeIX is one of the world's leading FinTech companies. In 2017, TradeIX launched TIX, the world's first blockchain-based platform for financial trading with open access.

According to the DHL leaders, blockchain technology will help automate the company's work and reduce the likelihood of errors. Becky Taylor, Vice President of Commercial at DHL Supply Chain UK and Ireland, said that the company has long sought to “create more efficient networks” in the digital field. The company is looking for ways to track the goods, their history, and movement. According to Taylor, DHL did not achieve these goals alone, so they decided to attract Trade IX.

Daniel Cotti, CFO of TradeIX, believes that the lack of standards and mechanisms of compatibility in the financial market creates a disparity among trading systems. As a result, companies are forced to rely on “manual, costly, tedious, error prone, and redundant processes.”

DHL has been researching blockchain innovations since March. Then, DHL and Accenture jointly presented a prototype of the blockchain system for the pharmaceutical industry.

In May, FedEx, one of the main competitors of DHL, announced that the blockchain is the "next frontier" that global suppliers must overcome.
