Dubai Police have located and arrested a 10-man gang, which stole 7M AED ($1.9M) in an armed Bitcoin (TIKER: BTC.EXANTE) heist, the Gulf News reports.

The gang had deceived two Asian brothers who wanted to buy Bitcoins, luring them to the office and stealing their cash. The gang of 10 was arrested within 48 hours and the money was recovered.

Major General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, said the data analysis center used smart programs and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to trace the gang and helped the officers to arrest them in a record time.

“Using AI helped Dubai Police to arrest a Gulf National, the head of the gang, and other Asian suspects. The information from the data analysis center helped the officers to arrest all gang members,” Al Mansouri noted.
