French startup ACINQ has announced the launch of the first Eclair Lightning Network wallet for Android.

The wallet can be found in the Google Play Store and is designed to be convenient and user-friendly while offering all of the Lightning benefits.

“The Eclair Wallet is a next generation, Lightning-ready Bitcoin (TIKER: BTC.EXANTE) wallet. It can be used as a regular Bitcoin wallet, and can also connect to the Lightning Network for cheap and instant payments,” the app description reads.

The software is based upon eclair, and follows the Lightning Network standard.

The wallet is compatible with Android devices versions 5.0 or newer. It comes after ACINQ released its desktop version of eclair software implemented on mainnet on March 28, 2018.
