South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb, has teamed up with the country’s largest travel website Good Choice (여기어때), to make it possible to book accommodations and make payments with cryptocurrencies through Bithumb. CryptoNinjas reported.
Customers will now be able to pay with cryptocurrencies for over 50,000 accommodation facilities, including hotels, motels, inns, guest houses, and campers.
“We expect that virtual currencies will be used to make reservations and payments for domestic and international travelers, which will be of great help in increasing convenience,” Bithumb said.
All 12 cryptocurrencies Bithumb supports can be used: Bitcoin (Bitcoin), Bitcoin Cash (Bitcoin.Cash), Ripple (XRP/USD), Ethereum (ETH/USD), Ethereum Classic (ETC/USD), EOS, Qtum, Monero (XMR/USD), Litecoin (LTC/USD), ZCash (ZEC/USD), Bitcoin Gold, and Dash.
“Our partnership with the nation’s largest accommodation app has allowed Korea to join the global trend to see a greater use of cryptocurrency and we are continuously discussing with various companies for a greater use of a simple and safe payment tool, cryptocurrency in Korea,” the Bithumb team said.
Available in both Android and iOS, the app in the Google Play store has over 41,000 ratings, averaging 4.4 stars. Meanwhile, iTunes store gave it a 4.7-star rating on average, by about 5,700 users.
