Ripple reached an all time high of $1.87 today, a week after surging past $1, CoinDesk reported.

The digital currency briefly had a market capitalization of more than $71.8 billion, a few hundred million greater than Ethereum (ETH/USD) at the time.

Ethereum rose about 0.6 percent to $741.67 on Friday morning, with a market cap of about $71.6 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. Bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) traded little changed near $14,306, according to Coinbase.

South Korean exchanges, Bithumb, Coinone and Korbit account for 31.5, 7.3, and 2.07 percent of the worldwide XRP trading within 24 hours, respectively.

The price rally came right after the South Korea government issued a policy to ban cryptocurrency exchanges from allowing anonymous accounts or issuing new exchange accounts a move seen as to curb the market speculation in the country.

Ripple is one of the best performing this year, up more than 20,000 percent after ending 2016 at 0.64 cent.
