A 13-acre plot of land on Union Island, part of St Vincent and the Grenadines, has been put up for sale - but the seller of the tropical hideaway called Bloody Bay Beach will only accept a payment in Bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), starting at 600, The Telegraph reported.

“Offered for sale in Bitcoin for limited period only,” says the promotional literature. “Enabling new money to own a place of tradition and history in the old world.”

Described as “unspoilt, unique and utterly stunning”, Bloody Bay is currently just a plot of land, though the sellers say it comes with “plans to build a stunning villa and beach bar” as well as designs “for a collection of luxury cabins” courtesy of architect Seth Stein.

“The new owner will be investing in one of the property hot-spots of the Caribbean,” says the press release.

“Huge sums are being spent in developing the local infrastructure and turning the region into a luxury hotel destination.”

Union Island, with a population of 3,000, is a stone’s throw from Mustique, the private island of St Vincent and the Grenadines popular with the Royal Family. David Bowie once owned a villa on the island, while Noel Gallagher is said to have written much of Oasis album Be Here Now while on holiday there.
