Wells Fargo Joins Bank Crypto Purchase Purge

American financial company Wells Fargo & Co, following the trend set by number of banks, forbade its customers to purchase cryptocurrency from their credit cards. The Bank “will continue to evaluate the issue as the market evolves”, said Shelley Miller, the press attache of the bank. Wells Fargo joined the likes of Citigroup Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Bank of America Corp. in their decision from February to restrict the purchase of crypto assets using credit cards, citing market volatility, credit risks, and money laundering.

Apple Bans Crypto Mining

With the newly updated Review Guidelines Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has announced its banning all mining applications across the range of its platforms. New regulations specifically target background mining activities and it’s now been clearly stated that only cloud mining will be allowed. The company sights battery drain as the main cause for banning all mining activities. The rules will apply to all company products, which make use of the App Store such as the iPhone, Mac, iWatch, and Apple TV.

Binance to Offer Euro Trading Pairs

One of leading crypto exchange platforms, Binance will soon allow its customers to convert digital tokens into fiat currencies. Zhao Changpeng, the CEO of Exchange said in interview to Bloomberg. It is expected that by the end of 2018 such an option will be added for the Euro. Zhao also said that another fiat currency is planned to be launched, but he did not reveal any further details. This became possible due to the company opening an office and a bank account in Malta. Zhao ​​added that Binance plans to obtain a stock exchange license from Jersey in the Channel Islands and has set up a 100 employees office there. The company is also negotiating with authorities and banks of Taiwan as it plans to expand further.

KODAKCoin Bags NBA, NHL Contracts

Wenn Digital, the developer of Kodak’s image protection blockchain platform, announced a new partnership with Oak View Group (OVG), to use their KODAKOne Platform on six OVG Arena Alliance venues. Supporters of those teams will have the privilege to use the platform on their home arenas whereby up to 10 million fans will be able to upload, register and protect their in-venue photos & videos. Fans will also be able to back their teams and make payments using the KODAKCoin tokens. Furthermore the six arenas will cooperate with WENN Digital to process their individual content to be delivered securely through the KODAKOne platform.

Ethereum Classic Spreads on Binance, Coinbase

American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced today that it will commence listing Ethereum Classic (ETC/USD) on its platform in a few month. A few hours later the current 3rd biggest cryptocurrency exchange Binance has also announced that it will add two more trading pairs to ETC. ETC/BNB and ETC/USDT pairs on their Exchange. Following the two announcements the price of ETC has spiked by over 20%.

Ireland Welcomes Blockchain Projects

Industrial Development Authority of Ireland (IDA) has launched an information source platform “Blockchain Ireland”. The state body positions the Republic as the world's leading center of blockchain and a place that is friendly to international companies. A new resource should help in this endeavor. The initiative has been brought about by the Irish Blockchain Expert Group, an IDA Ireland-led forum. It was also supported by the Department of Finance, Enterprise Ireland and Consensys. Ireland plans to use blockchain in a variety of business areas with the need of technology transforming the spheres of healthcare, insurance, finance, energy, logistics, and others.
