Bitcoin transaction volume hits two-year low. The seven-day average for the number of daily Bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) transactions has reached a two-year low, recently dropping below 160,000 for the first time since March 2016. Blockchain.info data indicates that the number of transactions reached a two-year low on Feb. 26 with only 180,000 confirmed transactions, while Sunday, March 4 saw just 195,500.

U.S. Marshals to auction 2,170 Bitcoins. The U.S. Marshals are set to auction offearly $25 million worth of Bitcoin later this month. Approximately 2,170 Bitcoins forfeited in various federal criminal, civil and administrative cases will be auctioned during a six-hour period March 19.

$300 Million invested in crypto energy apps in 2018. Investors poured $300 million since the start of the third quarter into apps that will let people buy and sell energy with cryptocurrencies, GTM Research said. There are now 122 companies developing products or services for the energy industry. Most participants in the market are developing tools for peer-to-peer energy transactions.

South Korean travel app to accept cryptocurrency South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb, has teamed up with the country’s largest travel website Good Choice (여기어때), to make it possible to book accommodations and make payments with cryptocurrencies through Bithumb. Customers will now be able to pay with cryptocurrencies for over 50,000 accommodation facilities, including hotels, motels, inns, guest houses, and campers.
